Maruti Suzuki Workers struggle

The dispute at Maruti Suzuki India is of international importance. The two automobile plants in Manesar and Gurgaon with 7,000 employees are highly automated assembly factories equipped with cutting-edge technology. Manesar and Gurgaon, located in close proximity to the Indian capital Delhi, are newly founded centres of the international supermonopolies of automobile production as well as IT technology and textile industry with hundred thousands of employees. The struggle of the permanent employees for the rights of contract workers in Manesar has immediately become a beacon for other automobile plants and subcontractors and gained their solidarity.
