Dear Comrades,
Congratulations and greetings for your important (partial) success in the struggle against the criminalization of the workers' struggles and strikes and of your union. We were happy to read your information: " ... the Court of Inquiry in Bologna took note that the accusation of "criminal association" formulated by the Prosecutor's Office of Piacenza against Aldo Milani, Carlo Pallavicini, Mohamed Arafat and Bruno Scagnelli of SI Cobas (and two exponents of USB) is totally untenable, and therefore suspended the house arrest."
Warm greetings to your union (and USB) representatives - workers' solidarity wins! The prompt and great solidarity with strikes, protests and demonstrations in Italy has made this first success possible.
We as ICOR Europe have informed about these outrageous processes of criminalization and also called for active solidarity. There were at least in France, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and Switzerland solidarity statements/information and solidarity/protest actions of ICOR member organizations. In Germany, the trade union ver.di has also organized protest rallies in front of the Italian embassy/consulate in several cities.
We demand the complete cessation of all court cases and harassments against militant trade unionists, peace fighters and revolutionaries!
You write at the end of your information: "Let's prepare for a very eventful autumn - let's prepare initiatives against repression, against war, against the old and the new government, against the EU!" Let's do everything so that such an "eventful" autumn takes on a Europe-wide character, let's coordinate the struggles across national borders and build up a common fighting front in a cooperation.
With warm and solidary greetings
