To all ICOR Organizations

Dear comrades

again we have to mourn a death in the ranks of ICOR. Comrade JORGE HURTADO POZO, known to us all as Ludovico passed away on July 5, 2021 from COVID 19. He had been chronically ill for some time, but the virus ultimately brought him death.

With Ludovico, ICOR loses an asset in Latin America, a founding comrade, a leading activist in the building of ICOR in Peru.

He was for decades a leader of the revolutionary Peruvian workers and peasants movement and a passionate fighter. Ludovico was for many years an important figure in the international Marxist-Leninist and workers' movement.

In the ranks of ICOR and far beyond, he is known and appreciated as a critic of the revisionist degeneration in the Soviet Union and after the death of Mao Zedong in China, and as a staunch defender of Mao Zedong's ideas. In the ICMLPO (International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organizations) he actively participated in the preparation of the ICOR and assumed responsible tasks since its foundation. The consequent struggle for the protection of the natural environment and the building of the AIAFUF (International Anti-Imperialist and Anti-Fascist United Front) were a special concern of his in the last years.

Especially in today's times, in which the Peruvian people have risen to a new mass movement, also linking to the decades of forms of struggle and organization, it is an urgent task to close the ranks once again and to continue Ludovico's life's work.

On behalf of the ICC, I extend our heartfelt revolutionary condolences to his family, friends, comrades of the PMLP and the Bloque Democratico Popular.

on behalf of ICOR AMERICA, we offer our condolences to the comrades of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Peru (PMLP) and the Popular Democratic Bloc (Bloque Democrático Popular) on the death of comrade Jorge Hurtado Pozo, Ludovico, who in his life fulfilled tasks and made contributions to the revolutionary and popular movement of Peru and the world revolutionary movement, He fought against revisionism and in defense of Mao Tse Tung's contributions to revolutionary theory. He was leader of the PC del Perú "Patria Roja", from which he separated, he was leader of the UNIR, Senator of the Republic for the Izquierda Unida (IU), he was founder and General Secretary of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Peru, as well as promoter of the People's Democratic Bloc of Peru (BDP) and also of the emerging Anti-Imperialist and Anti-Fascist United Front. He was one of the founders of the International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organizations and of ICOR.

Comrade Ludovico was a revolutionary who gave his life for the party and the revolution in the midst of the class struggle, with victories and failures, successes and mistakes that are part of the history of the revolutionary and popular movement of Peru.
