International Women's Day – Union of Women in Solidarity of Peru.UMS-Peru
The Union of Women in Solidarity of Peru (UMS-Peru) on this March 8 we salute and pay tribute to all working women for the celebration of this day of international struggle for women's liberation. Working women in this system are doubly oppressed and doubly exploited, with unpaid domestic work, where women's bodies become merchandise, with exploitation for sexual purposes and human trafficking..., In this pandemic of the coronavirus, the big companies have shown their true face: the economy of profit with huge profits, without caring about the health of the people, millions of hungry people, health system that does not work, elimination of jobs (3 million unemployed), where sometimes the dead by coronavirus are not even buried, where women are in the front line providing social care and mutual aid and we are part of the struggles against this government. The historical and theoretical facts have demonstrated the great changes that a social revolution generates, which began with the Paris Commune (March 1871) and took shape with the Russian Revolution (October 1917). The emancipation of women will allow more women to be part of the struggle for the liberation of the working class towards a new society of true social justice, for the liberation of women, for freedom and for true democracy.
