Australia - International Women's Day
Existing translations
There were no marches or rallies owing to Covid-19 restrictions. Australia has no community transmission of Covid-19 because of widespread observance of these restrictions last year, and continuing into this year. Each city saw International Women‘s Day breakfasts (limited numbers and social distancing), and online symposia. Restrictions are being gradually eased. A handful of people attended a parkland gathering organised by the Australian Communist Party with a banner that read "The roots of IWWD are red", but they were outnumbered by cops and moved on. We placed the statements from the International Auto Workers and ICOR on our website, as well as two articles of our own.
