CPB’s Countrywide Humanitarian Activities to combat Covid-19 Pandemic

The Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) is continuing countrywide humanitarian activities to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers of CPB and its Mass organizations are working hard to provide emergency food, Hand wash, sanitizer, masks and other necessary materials for all countrymen. At the beginning of the corona alert CPB started a countrywide mass awareness campaign by distributing millions of leaflets and tried to aware people about the importance of hand washing, maintaining social distance, disinfection of houses and workplaces. The Party also called upon the government to take emergency measures to resolve economic consequences of this pandemic and to take special initiative for the survival of working class who lost their regular income due to this pandemic. The CPB also protested against the failure of government to stop irregularity and corruption in distribution of government’s relief materials. The party has set up a ‘Corona Control Team’ to operate and monitor all these humanitarian activities during this pandemic.    

Volunteers of CPB and its Mass organizations that include Bangladesh Students Union (BSU) and Bangladesh Youth Union (BYU) started manufacture of ‘Hand Sanitizer’ by their own from 17 April 2020 and similar activity has been continuing in about 50 out of 64 districts of the country till today. The CPB and its mass organizations already distributed 250,000 bottles hand sanitizer to low income group people and to different humanitarian organizations. CPB volunteers initially produced 50,000 ‘Face Masks’ in many districts and distributed.

The Party has launched ‘Food Aid and Financial Aid Program’ all over the country and provided aid for about 20,000 families in 50 districts till 14^th April 2020. This aid program is an ongoing program. Volunteers are continuing spraying disinfectants in many places of the country and providing hand wash facility for floating people.  Some Specialist comrades are working to identify the genome of the COVID-19 virus, invention of vaccine and for other related research.  The Party has also set up 24 hours call center and ‘Special Medical Team’ consists of a group of doctors from various departments to provide emergency medical services. In several districts party volunteers launched ‘Free Ambulance Service’ to transfer patients to hospitals. Well-wishers of the party are already involved and continuing different types of humanitarian activities all over the country. Humanitarian aid and activities of our party is continuing and we will update you by sharing our further activities later.
