On 2 June the ICOR Main Coordinator published an urgent call for solidarity with Alik Chakraborty, a revolutionary and environmental fighter from CPI(ML)Red Star in India. The international solidarity and the activities of the ICOR have taken effect: he was released on bail.
The heroic struggle of the people of Bhangor against the wanton destruction of the environment and the grabbing of land will continue. The struggle for democratic rights in the proto-fascist Mamata regime in Bengal where even persons who go to file their nominations for elections are beaten up in the presence of police will also continue.
