Call of ICOR for Anti-War Day, 1 September 2017

ICOR-Resolution, 28 August 2017

The International Coordination Of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations (ICOR) annually observes the International Day of Struggle against war and fascism, among other days on 1 September (first day of World War II). Today we call to take to the streets on a mass scale and demonstrate in the spirit of fighting against fascism and imperialist war and against the warmongers of every color – for a world without exploitation, oppression and imperialist wars!

For decades the threat of a nuclear war, which can never be restricted to one region, has been as high as today. US President Donald Trump openly threatens North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) with a nuclear strike. US imperialism as the only superpower still is the enemy of all peoples, and the main threat to world peace comes from there. The regime in North Korea on its part threatens to attack the US military base on the island of Guam with missiles, which would mean a dangerous escalation of the conflict. But the situation of North Korea has to be seen also in the context of the destructive war waged by the USA and allies against North Korea for more than 60 years and the continuing harassment bullying of the USA.

In 1964 socialist China regarded as self-understood to waive a nuclear first strike.

The areas of war and crisis like Ukraine, Syria or Afghanistan are dangerous hotbeds, too. Dozens of unjust wars are going on all over the world today. In their struggle for redividing the world all imperialist great powers are involved.

In this situation, strong cross-border, anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist actions are urgently necessary up to building an anti-imperialist, anti-fascist united front against the warmongers which is becoming the order of the day. We need a new strong worldwide peace and anti-imperialist movement, directed against any imperialist aggression and consistently committed to proletarian internationalism. Some seek to identify some imperialisms like the EU, Russia or China as being more peaceful, more moderate or even as peacemakers. Such is also the thrust of the deceptive social chauvinist propaganda.

2017 is the year of the 100th Anniversary of the Socialist October Revolution. It has set the signal, how socialist revolution puts an and to imperialist war!
