CALL TO INTERNATIONAL REVOLUTIONARIES, DEMOCRATS AND PROGRESSIVE FORCES
In 2012, initiated by Ministry of Justice in Germany, an investigation was launched against ATIK directors and the alleged TKP/ML activists in Europe. As a result of this investigation, police raids began on 15th of April 2015 resulting in the arrest of 2 ATIK directors and 12 alleged TKP/ML activists. 2 of the 3 arrested in Greece were later released due pressure from the Greek public opinion. However, Deniz Pektas was deported to France to finish a previous sentence. He was later extradited to Germany on January 2016. Mehmet Yesilcali was also sent to Germany from Switzerland a year after his arrest.
All of the arrested revolutionaries are held in heavy isolation in various prisons in Bavaria, Germany. Visits by the family and the lawyers are conducted from behind glass panels. They have limited contact with other prisoners. The court hearings will begin on 3rd June 2016 in Munich.
German state is trying with the court case to list TKP/ML as a terrorist organisation and prohibit its activities in Germany. We will see during these hearings the secret agreements made by Turkish and German state. Arrested revolutionaries will be put on trial based on the record of TKP/ML’s struggle against the Turkish State.
This case can only be won, if there is a strong international solidarity.
Our call
We call on all revolutionary, democrats and progressive forces to protest against the German state in front of German embassies and consulates in their own country. We think this trial will take at least 2 years. It is important that these protest are organised at regular intervals. We hope that all the organisations and democratic forces show their solidarity and join us in resisting these attacks on revolutionary and democratic forces.
This is a political trial not anti-terror case!
TKP/ML is not a terrorist organisation, it is a political party!
Imperialist powers and the Turkish state don’t have the authority to put revolutionaries on trial!
