Statement concerning the Lipulake agreement between the governments of India and China

by Nepal Communist Party (Mashal) - Central Office, 1 June 2015

During Indian Prime minister, Modhi's visit to China a joint statement is issued by the government of China and India on May 15 in which it is mentioned that both governments have reached the agreement to make Lipulake, a part of Nepal trading junction of both countries, China and India. Lipulek a part of Kalapani where Indian border security forcess are living there for decades and it is supposed disputed area between Nepal and India. Both the governments of Nepal and India had appointed a working team also to settle the dispute of Kalapani. There are many historical document to prove that Kalapani is a part of Nepal. Considering upon all these facts it the agreement reached between the government of China and India on Lipulek is serious interference on Nepal's sovereignty of Nepal and our Party, NCP (Mashal) condemns that agreement. Besides this, we demand the government to make its view clear about it and oppose that agreement.
