ICOR-Resolution Ukraine: Acute threat of war calls for active resistance against imperialist aggressors

De facto a military conflict in the Ukrainian Crimea has already started: Since the beginning of March troops of the Russian Black Sea Fleet have been occupying important strategic points. Previously Russia's President Putin had the Russian Duma authorize him to take military action against Ukraine. In a referendum not accepted by the Ukrainian government the accession of Crimea to the Russian Federation has taken place.

The puppet government of Ukraine is mobilizing its troops. In case of an open outbreak of war the Ukrainian transitional government has officially demanded military “backup” from NATO.

NATO, USA and EU have imposed first sanctions, further ones are planned; for the first time the G8 has met without Russia. The NATO council intends to revise the relations with Russia. The USA has already sent twelve warplanes to Poland for an “exercise” and eight more to Lithuania. China, on the other hand, has taken sides with Russia.

What had started with a pro EU-mass movement staged and financed by the USA and the EU at the end of last year has lead to the overthrow of the pro-Russian president and his replacement by a US/NATO stooge and thus grown into a global political crisis. A new multicolored “revolution” organized by Western imperialist countries in Ukraine with the assistance of fascists, lead to a coup.

In a demagogic way Russia speaks of “the protection of the mainly Russian speaking population of Crimea” using the ultra-reactionary and fascist forces of Ukraine, which are actually gaining strength, as a pretext for its military aggression. On the other hand the NATO hypocritically warns Russia to “respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine”. But during the last weeks it had actually been the USA and the EU which made use of the mass protests in Ukraine. In alliance with reactionary oppositional, partly aggressively anticommunist and fascist forces they forced the reactionary President Yanukovych to take flight and installed a EU- and USA-friendly government.

Right in the middle of Europe the conflicting imperialist interests for economic, political and military supremacy are openly colliding.

The Ukraine is hit by the global economic crisis with particular impact, which unfolds and intensifies the social and political contradictions. The discontent of the working class and the masses of the people in Ukraine about their miserable social situation, political deprivation of rights and oppression is growing.

The Marxist-Leninists of the ICOR organization KSRD conduct a revolutionary, patient and systematic work among the rank and file under difficult conditions and must urgently be strengthened and supported.

The international working class and all peace-loving people are called upon to develop active resistance and international solidarity !

• Fight against imperialist interference and warmongering on the part of the USA and the NATO and Russia in Ukraine and in Crimea!

• Active resistance against any kind of imperialist interference!

• Solidarity with the struggle for national and social liberation of the working class and the people's masses of Ukraine!
