ICOR/ILPS-campaign: handing over of signatures not on 11 March
The public handing over of the signatures under the manifesto for ending the use of nuclear energy and nuclear weapons will not take place on 11 March as was planned. The signatures which have been collected in the one-year joint campaign of ICOR and ILPS were supposed to be handed over to the UN on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Fukushima disaster. Preparatory talks for this had been held with the UN office in Geneva/Switzerland. They at first held out the prospect of receipt in front of or inside the UN representation. On 5 March they finally declared themselves not to be competent to do so, but referred to the UN office in Vienna/Austria.
