Statement of the ICOR organization KOE about the police attack against the steel workers of Asprospirgos

20.July 2012 (23. 30 hours) The Communist Organization of Greece (KOE), member in the ICOR („International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations“) declares:

The anti-worker, undemocratic and anti-constitutional act of the three parties of the government coalition to deploy special police units against the steel workers is a challenge for the entire working class and the workers.

The government parties ND, Pasok and the Dimap believe that they can break the resistance of the steel workers after 265 days of strike and that they can take revenge by gaining a victory for the capitalists. They wanted to break the morale of the striking workers, the morale of the fighting workers, the morale of the entire Greek people who are resisting the black front of the government parties.

But this time they are mistaken. The climate of the whole-hearted support for the steel workers' strike is spreading all over Greece. The working class, the workers, the entire people of Greece are on the side of the steel workers - like in the last

nine months.

The hearts and minds of us all are in Aspropirgos. It is our struggle. Yesterday it was the people in Madrid and the miners in Spain. Today it is about us.
