ICOR opens own office
On 1 May 2011 ICOR opened its public office in 39 Buerer Strasse in the city of Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Approximately 50 guests responded to the invitation of ICOR main coordinator Stefan Engel to get to know the bright and functionally furnished rooms better. Many brought heartfelt greetings from their organizations.
The establishment of this office is a sign of ICORs financial independence and its members participating on an equal basis.
The little celebration was opened with the song "Brigada International" from 1936. The internationalist spirit of the 35.000 anti-fascists in the international brigades that defended the Spanish republic against the fascists, is still an example for todays ICOR. The joint singing of the "Internationale" provided a worthy conclusion to the celebration. The participants continued in an optimistic mood their local May 1 celebrations.
