Another crime by the islamic republic regime

At dawn on Sunday, May 9, 2010, the criminal regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran, hanged five prisoners in Evin prison, with trumped up charges of bombing: Farzad Kamangar, Ali Haidarian, Farhad Vakiily, Shireen Alamholi and Mehdi Islamian. The charges against the first three (arrested in July of 2006) was for their cooperation with the organization of Pejak. Same trumped up charges were used in case of Shireen Alamholi, who was arrested in April of 2009 in Tehran. Mehdi Islamian was charged for financially helping his brother Mohsen, who was charged with a plot to set off a bomb in a mosque in Shiraz. All were executed.

Farzad Kamangar was a hard working teacher in southern Kurdistan. He was very much loved and respected by his students and the people. His heroic resistance in prison and his unwillingness to bend and surrender to the Islamic regime's torturers along with his (little) writing which leaked out of prison exemplified his high spirit and his clear comprehension of the unclean nature of the Islamic regime. His presence threatened the vast repressive apparatus of the Islamic regime to the point where the executioners were counting down the days till his execution.

In this past year, the desperate regime has continued to silence the oppressed people's movement, but this has only created the opposite effect. On this year's May Day, the workers in the Iranian cities (where the Islamic regime has nearly converted these cities to military garrisons) rose up against repressors and reached their just demands to the people all over the world.

Iran's Ranjbaran Party, considers the execution of the prisoners in general and the execution of the political prisoners in specific, a grave crime against humanity and severely condemns it. It is our hope that in the very near future, the criminal elements of this Islamic regime will be prosecuted in people's court and punished for their crimes against humanity. To reach this decisive day, we must unite whole-heartedly. A pre-condition for the realization of this future, is the united force of the workers and the toilers of our nation.
